I got this list by eMail asking to respond to a survey being done by the Florida State Veterinary School. Among other things, they are trying to determine how many organizations there are in each state, how they're set up, what they do for the animals etc.
Since there aren't any web addresses on this list, it won't help internet surfers much, but I was amazed at the number of groups and thought you'd be impressed too. There must be an awful lot of caring people out there trying to do something about the stray and abandoned pet problem. On the flip side, there must be an awful lot of irresponsible people out there to have so many helping organizations and still be in a situation where hundreds of pets are destroyed each month in every county because people aren't neutering or making pet ownership much of a committment.
